Changes on the Katy Freeway
Remember this date, April 18, 2009 everything changes on I-10 between Katy and Downtown Houston Texas. Where there use to be one HOV lane, now there are two heading into downtown and two heading out for commuters to use 24 hours a day.Single drivers can use the HOV lanes but need an EZ TAG and pay a fee during HOV hours. The HOV hours are from 5am to 11am and 2pm to 8pm. Metro buses, school buses, motorcycles, and cars, truck, vans & SUVs with mutiple occupants will not be charged. Of course the main lanes of the Katy Freeway are still free.
